Magazine Pitches

Magazine Pitches

Thanks for your interest in Psychology Arts magazine. As you know, our magazine explores every aspect of human behavior, from the cultural trends that shape and reflect the way we think and feel to the intricacies of modern neuroscience. Although many psychologists and mental health professionals read Psychology Arts, most of our readers are simply intelligent and curious people interested in the psyche and the self. Think of us as a health magazine for the mind.

What We Need

We are looking for good, clearly articulated story ideas—and writers with talent to bring these ideas to life. Nearly any subject related to psychology is fair game. We value originality, insight, and good reporting.

How to Get an Assignment

Please don't send us complete manuscripts. Instead, explain:

  •     what you want to write

  •     why you want to write it now

  •     why you should be the one to write it

Tell us why and how your story will change people's lives, if applicable, and mention sources you might contact. Let us know if you think your pitch would be appropriate for a particular section of the magazine.

If your work has been published before, attach or include links to 1-3 clips.

We don't publish poems or short stories, and we don't consider short first-person accounts of psychological illness or recovery.

Due to the amount of queries we receive our staff is not able to respond in all cases.

Success! Message received.
